How it all started!

Hi! I am a young adult male who is currently exploring the world of wet shaving with a safety razor. Like many other people, I started with cartridge razors and was really disappointed with the results, so I decided to fall into the world of safety razors to see if a better shave was achievable. With the cartridge razors, many shortfalls were evident with pricing, quick dulling, and the itchy existence of ingrown hairs. I knew there had to be a better way to shave. I decided to try a butterfly safety razor from one of my local big box stores and learned a lot. After about 6 months, I found a closed comb safety razor. I still was using the same blades that I was using with the butterfly style razor and had some issues with ingrown hairs and decided to upgrade my razor to a more aggressive open-comb style. This style of razor paired with a higher quality razor blade made my shaving experience a breath of fresh air in personal hygiene. At this point I have 5 safety razors of varying kinds and dimensions. This is where a storage solution that was cost effective and nice looking came to the beginning of fruition. My father is an avid 3d printer so we sat down and did a rough sketch on a napkin trying to figure out effective solutions. We came to a conclusion, designed, and printed Prototype 1. It worked! I will admit it needed some improvements so we made some adjustments and printed out Prototype 2 with decent success. We moved on with some minor adjustments to make Prototype 3. This version is the best printing and cleanest looking, while still maintaining all function. The idea behind this was the fact that most safety razor stands require you to pick them up by the head of the implement. This can obviously be dangerous especially with open comb and slant bar style razors. With more of the blade being exposed it is more likely to have accidents happen. With this design the razor sits with the head facing down meaning you can directly grab the handle without having to touch the head of the razor.
